The NTPA Conservatory is an excellent option for those students with a passion to learn, explore and experience the performing arts in a supportive and safe environment, but it may not be right for all students, and so the NTPA Application & Admission Process is designed to ensure this is the right approach for each student admitted.
Students wishing to take advantage of the NTPA Conservatory will participate in the following activities:
- Participate in an Personal Consultation. This overview session allows a family to evaluate the offering and decide if this is the right solution for their student and if they want to continue pursuing this as an educational option. This consultation will include discussion with an NTPA faculty member to assess the family’s educational goals and needs. This face-to-face discussion will enable the parent to ask questions and better understand the NTPA Academy offering and approach.
- Complete the NTPA Conservatory Application and pay the $50 application fee.
- Participate in an Audition. An Audition will consist of a prepared and memorized monologue between thirty and sixty seconds and between 16 and 32 vocalist bars from a musical theatre song*. Auditions for current NTPA students may be waived at the sole discretion of the Academy faculty. All students will participate in an “interview” during the audition process to assess the student’s interests, expectations and goals and address any questions the student may have.*Students interested in pursuing the non-musical Acting or Technical Theatre certification may choose to waive the song and substitute a comedic, dramatic reading or technical portfolio.Conservatory Auditions are only available to those that have completed the Academy Application and paid the associated fee.
